According to a press release posted to its website, NASA has managed to solve a long running mystery about Mars and will reveal its findings at a press conference on Monday at 11:30 a.m EST.

The event will take place at the James Webb Auditorium at NASA's Headquarters in Washington and will broadcast live on both NASA TV and on the agency's website.

It will be attended by planetary science director Jim Green, Mars exploration head Michael Meyer and three university officials from Georgia Tech and the University of Arizona in Tuscon.

It isn't clear at the moment specifically what the scientists have found on Mars however it is possible that more details will emerge nearer to the time of the announcement.
