Boston Yeti wanders snow-covered streets

A 'yeti' has stepped out of myth and onto the snowy streets of Massachusetts.

A person wearing an abominable snowman costume was photographed roaming a Boston suburb as a blizzard led to closure of roadways overnight on Monday into Tuesday.

The Boston Yeti debuted mysteriously on Twitter at about 10 p.m. Monday and wandered the deserted streets of Somerville, a Boston suburb, around midnight, after a travel ban went into effect.

The mythological creature's account joked that "multiple #BostonYeti2015 sightings" had forced schools to close.

Blending into the snowy surroundings with its white fur, the yeti failed to hail a cab along McGrath Highway and encouraged everyone to be safe.

Little is known about the Boston Yeti, but the person behind the costume told ABC News it "was raised and educated by the woods."

The yeti is said to roam the Himalaya Mountains along the border between Nepal and Tibet.

Looks like the one in Boston thought the snow in the Northeast would be just as plentiful.
