6 in public custody for practicing occult in Imphal India
IMPHAL, March 25: In a report bordering on the paranormal,16 persons are presently kept in detention by a hill based militant outfit for practicing the occult.
A source stated that eight men and eight women aged between 18 to 35 and belonging to the Kuki community are held at the office of Thangtong Church located near Ikou village of Saikhul.
The sixteen have been apprehended about a week back.
According to the source, the said individuals before being incarcerated could be seen coming to the town cemetery also located near the hillside of the area. They were allegedly seen by locals painting strange symbols around select graves and gathering in a circle after midnight.
Further, they were witnessed conducting strange rituals. The said persons had also tried to induct three persons from Saikhul area to their fold. The incidents were allegedly reported to an underground organization. Then, along with the locals of the area, the sixteen persons were rounded and beaten up. Later, they were interrogated but it was stated that not much was revealed by them.
Presently, they are still kept at the office chamber of Thantong Church. The source mentioned that one male individual is injured with a broken leg and is in bad shape.
With the news spread around the area that occult practicers are in the area, villagers have remained apprehensive with the fear.
