Trick or treating in a certain neighborhood of Maple Shade, NJ, just got a bit more intense this year after paranormal experts claim a high amount of ghost activity at the Collins Lane house at 57 Collins Lane, Maple Shade, NJ 08052.
The Maple Shade Township owns the home (purchased in 2004 for $199,500) and the Maple Shade Historical Society, who is in the process of preserving it, asked ghost experts to investigate, according to the Maple Shade Progress. Paranormal investigators Eric Pensyl Jr. and Edward Vargas spent a couple of days staking out the house and produced evidence of orbs and voices during a presentation last week with the mayor and council members.
“We caught a lot of stuff that blew our minds,” Pensyl said. “This is definitely an intelligent haunt.”
The home was built in the early to mid 1700s by Joseph Rudderow and was surrounded by hundreds of acres of land. Half of the original old stone silo (video) still exists behind the house (see photo below). According to information on the home’s history, part of the house was moved across the street, which still evidently exists.
Pensyl said the home “is very active,” saying “it’s right up there with Eastern State Penitentiary.”
