New “Cryptozoologist” Documentary Being Developed

Do you have a son or daughter who aspires to someday become a cryptozoologist? Lucky you … and congratulations on being such a well-rounded and open-minded parent to raise such a wonderful and inquisitive child. If you would like to have one of these kids of your own, or perhaps you aspire to become a cryptozoologist yourself or learn more about them … you’re in luck. A documentary film team is raising funds to produce and distribute a movie about the field of cryptozoology and some of the dedicated cryptozoologists who are devoting their lives to the search for and study of the mysterious creatures known to them as cryptids and to you as Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and Champ. Champ? See, this is why a cryptozoology documentary is needed.

Brad Abrahams and Matt Ralston have created a project on Kickstarter to crowdfund the production of “Cryptozoologist,” their planned “definitive documentary on the search for unknown animals.” The pair combines their experience in creating quality films on unusual subjects – “Love and Saucers” is the life story of an artist who says he lost his virginity to a space alien, and “Swan Song of the Skunk Ape” covers the people who search for this soggy Sasquatch – with their love of fascinating stories, interesting people and cryptozoology.


The people they have already lined up to interview and follow on field trips would fill a wing in a Cryptozoology Hall of Fame. Loren Coleman is a leading author in the field and the curator of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine. Lyle Blackburn is an author, musician and researcher of lesser-known cryptids. Adam Davies has traveled the world searching for cryptid evidence while Linda Godfrey scours the U.S. for the same and Scott Mardis concentrates on a few of the better known ones. Abrahams and Ralston promise there will be additional cryptozoologists and more unknown animals presented in a manner rarely seen in this field – with artfulness, quality content and respect for their efforts and research.

However, traveling the world with these experts to the remote and obscure places where the unknown creatures might be hiding takes resources, so Abrahams and Ralston have opened a Kickstarter campaign that will run through November 24, 2017 (Black Friday – the ‘monster’ day for all retailers). The project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by that date.
