Expedia’s new guide for Bigfoot, Yeti seekers

Via mercurynews.com by Jackie Burrell

Hunting the Ninki-Nanka? Seeking the Yeti?

Expedia is helping modern-day Newt Scamanders seek out fantastical beasts with a new online travel guide that includes a mythical creatures map, as well as hotel and transportation recommendations. Because even Bigfoot devotees have to sleep sometime.

If you’re hot on the trail of the yacumama, for example, you’ll want to start in Manaus, Brazil, where the Solimoes and Negro rivers form the mighty Amazon. Expedia suggests you take an Amazon river cruise and check out the Teatro Amazonas, too. (Best check your travel insurance for details on any legendary giant snake clause.)

Unicorns? You’ll be heading to China, where unicorns — or qilin — references date back to the fifth century BC.

There are mythical creatures on this map that we’ve never even heard of. Zulu legend has it that the impundulu bird starts lightning storms. Who knew? Check it out at www.expedia.co.uk/vc/discover-mythical-creatures/.
