Presenters of a paranormal reality TV series believe they have captured a 'ghost' on camera for the first time.

Most Haunted captured this frightening footage while filming at the Wentworth Woodhouse stable block, which has been called the "most groundbreaking footage" ever recorded of a 'ghost'.

The crew was shocked to see what appeared to be the figure of a man during two separate vigils at the historic building.

It was aired on Friday night's show when sightings of a large man in the stable block were being investigated.

Yvette Fielding's team recorded the footage. She said: “To date this has to be the most ground-breaking footage we have ever recorded.

“But rather than giving us the answer we were looking for, it just gave us more questions.

"Was it the presence of the spirit of a long dead soul, a doppelganger, Stone Tape Replay or something else we are never supposed to understand?"

Karl Beattie filmed the footage and said: "We've never seen anything like this before and we really don't have an explanation for what we saw but the replay of the filming, clearly shows the vision in detail.

"It's a weird, weird place."

Wentworth Woodhouse is a huge building that would have housed an entire community during the heyday of the house near Rotherham, South Yorkshire, that was built in 1630 by Thomas Wentworth, the first Earl of Strafford.

Karl was with camera operator Stuart Torevell when they saw the so-called spectre in the stable block, the Mirror reports.

They decided to film down a corridor after hearing footsteps, and were left shaken by what they saw.

After pointing the camera in the direction of the noise, they ask the ghoul to walk towards them.

What appears to be the figure of a man then appears in a doorway at the end of the corridor, before the crew chase after it.
