Paranormal investigator and star of Syfy’s Haunting: Australia, Gaurav Tiwari, was discovered unconscious on July 7, only to pass away shortly thereafter in what investigators are calling “mysterious circumstances”. Fellow ghost hunters, on the other hand, are blaming a “negative force” that Gaurav believed had recently taken hold of his life.
The 32-year-old founder of the Indian Paranormal Society claimed to have had over 6,000 investigations under his belt during his seven years as a paranormal investigator, and not only lent his ghost hunting talents to the series Haunting: Australia, but the local Haunted Weekends series as well.
After his family heard a loud thump in the bathroom last Thursday, Tiwarwi was discovered unconscious and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Though Gaurav’s own father is not a believer in ghosts, he did comment that the circumstances surrounding his sons death were very mysterious.
“Gaurav told his wife a month ago that a negative force was pulling him towards it,” he recently told the Times Of India. “He had said he was trying to control it but seemed unable to do so. My daughter-in-law ignored it thinking he was just depressed due to work overload and did not tell us about it.”
Police have named the official cause of death asphyxia, stating that the body was discovered with a dark bruising that circled the throat. This particular detail has many paranormal investigators suspecting that the supernatural may have had a part to play in the death of the young man.
News of Gaurav Tiwari’s death has saddened the paranormal community, and many have taken to Facebook to share their sympathies with his friends and family. A date for his funeral has not yet been set.
