You may not be prepared for a 28 Days Later zombie apocalypse scenario but internet giant Amazon may know something we don’t.
A zombie apocalypse clause for the “fall of civilization” has been spotted in Amazon’s small print for one of its new products.
Eagle-eyed Amazon users who actually spend time reading their terms and conditions, thus ensuring they are not actually selling their soul to the devil, spotted the unusual point about the threat of zombies taking over the planet.
The company has just released a new game engine (a software framework designed for the creation and development of video games) called Lumberyard on Amazon Web Services.
Amazon explains in its Ts and Cs that the 3D game engine software should not be used with “life-critical or safety-critical systems” but added that there was one notable exception.
The Jeff Bezos company’s terms goes on to explain that you can break them in the event of a zombie attack (just as long as it’s certified by experts in the field).
“This restriction will not apply in the event of the occurrence (certified by the United States Centers for Disease Control or successor body) of a widespread viral infection transmitted via bites or contact with bodily fluids that causes human corpses to reanimate and seek to consume living human flesh, blood, brain or nerve tissue and is likely to result in the fall of organized civilization,” reads the full clause.
So the zombies may be coming and Amazon has been contacted for comment about any potential inside information on a post-apocalyptic planet Earth.

Meanwhile, Amazon has just announced plans to create 2,500 jobs in the UK this year.
The company is expanding in response to strong demand, and will employ 14,500 people in the UK by the end of 2016.
