Man wields Klingon Bat'leth during argument

Via telegraph.co.uk by Mark Molloy

If you’ve ever pondered the pros and cons of buying a Klingon sword, then this tale from Washington could help make up your mind.

‘Will I get enough use out of it?’ or ‘what preposterous situation could I possibly find myself in where I need a Klingon sword?’ are just some of the questions you may ask yourself.

One man who got the answer to the hypotheticals one may look at when thinking of investing in a sword favoured by the humanoid alien species from Star Trek is Carlo Morris Cerutti.

The 50-year-old has been charged with assault after being accused of swinging a Klingon sword with "multiple blades" at a neighbour in a dispute over some rubbish.

Mr Cerutti’s wife told police she got in an argument with a neighbour she spotted putting rubbish in their bin.

"Our next door neighbour was evicted and he was throwing his stuff in our garbage can so I put it in a bag, took it to him and said ‘Jr. will you please not put your stuff in our garbage can,’" Joyce Cerutti told KREM.com.

"I turned around and he chucked the bag at me and hit me in the back and then he started throwing garbage all over my yard."

The neighbour claims this was when Mr Cerutti came rushing out of his house armed with the sword, also known by Trekkies as a Bat’leth.

He says he put his hands up to protect himself from the sword and was able to grab it from his hands. Another neighbour then called the police.

Mrs Cerutti claims her husband only took down the sword that was mounted on the wall when the man barged into their home but did not attack him.

Cerutti was charged with assault and booked into Spokane County Jail.
