Creepy clown turns up in cemetery at night

Via nydailynews.com by Meg Wagner

Forget ghosts — a clown is haunting this Chicago graveyard.

A creepy jokester in neon yellow pants and a rainbow wig has been roaming a local cemetery, terrorizing mourners and passersby.

At least one witness shot video of the clown climbing over Rosehill Cemetery’s gate in the middle of the night earlier this month. The bozo started waving at the camerawoman when he noticed her recording.

“I mean, this was somebody putting forth a lot of effort — and being really weird,” Julia Graham told CBS Chicago.

Graham said she was driving with her husband around 10 p.m. when they spotted the costumed joker scaling the graveyard’s 7-foot front gate.

With a full face of clown makeup and a colorful costume, the fool was not deterred by the passing vehicle. When Graham and her husband pulled up closer, the clown started slowly waving at them, video showed.

He eventually scampered off, into the darkness.

“I just think it’s creepy and wrong,” Graham said, noting that the cheerful creep seemed to be making light of the cemetery.

The cemetery owners said they have not seen any vandalism, meaning that the trespassing clown didn’t do any real harm — he was only there to visit.

Chicago police said they have not received any other reporters of the jolly lurker.

Chicago isn’t the first city to be terrorized by colorful, creepy clowns: Last year, the Staten Island clown terrified residents by silently wandering the borough, yellow balloon in hand. The bozo was later unmasked as a publicity stunt by a film company.

Another clown in Brooklyn haunted Green-Wood Cemetery last summer.
