A report covering the unusual medical case detailed how a 52-year-old, whose identity has not been revealed, arrived at an outpatient clinic to report that she had been seeing strange dragon-like faces on a regular basis.
The visages would seemingly appear and disappear at random, sometimes moving towards her from wall sockets or from a computer screen, other times appearing in complete darkness or from the face of someone else who was in the room.
According to her descriptions the dragon-like images were "black, grew long, pointy ears and a protruding snout, and displayed a reptiloid skin and huge eyes in bright yellow, green, blue, or red."
The cause of these hallucinations proved to be something of a mystery, with neurological examinations, blood tests and even an MRI scan revealing nothing to explain them.
Fortunately doctors were able to relieve her symptoms using a conventional anti-dementia medication however the mystery behind the cause of her draconic visions was never solved.
