Athens woman expresses fear of Satan

Athens-Clarke police were dispatched about 8:30 a.m. Sunday to a neighborhood off Cherokee Road after a resident called to report hearing yelling, maniacal laughter and unintelligible sounds coming from a neighbor’s home.

When an officer arrived, he spoke to the 39-year-old neighbor, who explained that she practices black magic. The woman, who kept looking fearfully into her home, said she had been studying the Kabbalah, which had angered Satan, whom she saw as an angel with black wings, according to the report.

“I know it sounds crazy,” the woman told the police, adding that the only person who could help her was someone who understood the religious issues involved.
