Yuan Tian is accused of biting a woman's foot in a Target store.
PHOENIX -- Phoenix police arrested a man they say bit a woman's foot in a Target store last week. Police said a tip led them to Yuan Tian, 23. He was booked into the
Maricopa County Jail and charged with one count of misdemeanor assault.
Sgt. Tommy Thompson said the 23-year-old woman was shopping in the store near 27th Avenue and Beardsley Road on March 26 when a man approached her, fell to the floor and bit her on her right foot.
The victim told police it took several moments before she could free her foot from the suspect. She ran to the customer service area for help and the man fled the store.
The victim went to a local hospital where it was determined the suspect had bitten through two layers of skin, creating an open wound. She was given a tetanus shot and anti-bacteria medication.
After being arrested, Tian said he "fell and his mouth landed on the victim's foot."
Thompson said Tian is a foreign student on a student visa.
