Ice Falls, Vampires, Lucid Dreaming

Some interesting links I've found this week:
  • Look Out Below! -- Falls of clear and pure ice are harder to explain. On average, there are about two ice chunk falls each month, worldwide.
  • Vampyres -- An interesting article from 1855 explaining some of the history, lore, and traditions of the vampire. A fascinating perspective from another century.
  • Lucid Dreaming and Psychic Abilities -- Interview with Robert Waggoner, who explains lucid dreaming, his experiences, and how through the use of lucid dreaming techniques one can achieve "paranormal" abilities, such as telepathy and clairvoyance.
Haunted Dolls: Paranormal or Just Plain Creepy? (added 6/3)
A look at some very eerie-looking dolls that some say are haunted -- including the infamous Robert and 90-year-old Mandy -- and the stories behind them.

John Zaffis Museum of the Paranormal (added 4/8)
This nicely designed site provides a tour of paranormal researcher John Zaffis's extensive collection of "things" thought to be possessed. And don't miss the cool movie link.
Negative Energy Attacks on Inanimate Objects (added 4/15)
The Spiritual Science Research Foundation says it has received a number of unusual photographs and other objects that have changed very suddenly and unexplainably. Is there something supernatural involved?
Orbs - It's All a Load of, Erm, Orbs - And Now There's Proof (added 4/28)
This article, with photos, puts another nail in the coffin of ideas that state that orbs are spirit energy. Using a 3-D camera, the resulting photos prove that the orbs are dust.
The Poltergeist Curse (added 5/6)
Was there a curse surrounding the original "Poltergeist" film, resulting in strange deaths and other unusual phenomena? Read this article and make up your own mind.
HUMAN MYSTERIES (more)
Passage of Darkness: The Ethnobiology of the Hatian Zombie (added 4/22)
Are there really zombies in Haiti? This article looks at popular views, then explores cases where there have been some attempts to carefully and more scientifically determine the status of suspected cases.
Tatoos from the Blue (added 4/28)
About people branded by lightning. Those crippled or marked in some way by the fiery bolts but left alive were, in archaic societies at least, destined to become shamans, intercessors between this and the Otherworld.
Vampyres (added 6/17)
An interesting article from 1855 explaining some of the history, lore, and traditions of the vampire. A fascinating perspective from another century.
LIFE AFTER DEATH and REINCARNATION (more)
Can Science Explain Heaven? (added 4/1)
The thesis of this skeptical article is simple: NDEs are not real, or even a process or a supernatural event. It's something that happens in your brain as you die.
Past Lives (added 5/6)
Includes some past life experiences, children's past lives, plus information on karma, fate, old souls, crystals and past lives, and more.
LOST WORLDS and MYSTERIOUS CIVILIZATIONS (more)
The Palpa Lines (added 6/3)
Well known are the pictograms of the Nasca plain; less well known are those of Palpa. Birds, a star and a ceremonial knife among Peru's unseen geoglyphs. One resembles a dinosaur!
MAD SCIENTISTS and WEIRD SCIENCE (more)
Secret Space (added 5/13)
Did the Nazis have an advanced, secret space program? And when WWII ended, did the German rocket scientists continue their work for the U.S. with America's own secret space program? Watch this interesting video, in 11 parts.
Zero-Point Energy (added 4/22)
Advances in theories of zero-point energy, nonlinear thermodynamics, and Connective Physics open up the possibility of cohering this energy for practical purposes, thereby accessing a universe-sized source of energy.
