Cleveland: Haunted home getting national exposure
WKYC.com -- A production team from Animal Planet is in the home of Tom and Deborah Weaver to chronicle the ongoing paranormal incidents that started three years ago. The Weavers and their dogs, Trouble and Georgia, have been visited by spirits on an almost daily basis.
"We really didn't want to tell anybody about this for a long time," said Deborah Weaver.
Sitting in her living room and holding the hand of her husband, Tom, Weaver admitted that living with paranormal spirits is not easy.
"It seemed to start with one spirit, and then progressed to the point where we identified seven of them," added Deborah. "Our dogs were the first to notice that something strange was going on in our living room."
"I was really skeptical," said Tom Weaver, "and I really didn't want to believe in any of this. But after enough stuff happened to me, I had to admit that something very special is going on here."
Chris Page runs the "Orbs" paranormal detection agency. His team has been doing tests for weeks at the Weaver home and says he has personally witnessed unusual events.
"There is no doubt that something extraordinary is going on in this home," said Page. "This goes way beyond just the data showing up on our meters. I have no doubt there is paranormal activity going on here."
"It started with our dog, Trouble, barking and chasing something we couldn't see in the living room," said Deborah. "We actually took her to the vet because she was acting so strangely. She would start to stare into space and start pawing at something that we couldn't see."
A few weeks later, the couple began hearing and seeing unexplainable things in the living room and in the hallway.
They confided in just a few family members and asked them to come over to see for themselves.
Deborah's sister, Laura Templin, said she didn't believe in visiting spirits until she felt something touch her neck and shoulder.
"Oh my goodness, I jumped up and ran out of the house," said Templin.
"I know people are going to say we are kooks or attention seekers," said Tom Weaver.
"But let me tell you, we actually tried to keep this a secret just to avoid any attention. However, it was getting so intense and so frequent that we had to call in a team to help verify what we were experiencing."
The Animal Planet series called "The Haunted" premieres at 10 p.m. Sunday Nov. 22. No broadcast date has been selected yet for the report on the Weaver home.
Tom Weaver held his wife's hand and said, "I just wanted to let the whole world know this actually happens to normal people."
