TV series seeking naked ghost hunters is rejected by paranormal field

Earlier this week a casting agency in Hollywood sent out mass emails looking for ghost hunters that will bare everything on camera. Producers were seeking paranormal investigators that would explore a haunted location nude during an investigation. Due to the negative feedback, the production company apparently has shelved the series. The emails were sent to paranormal investigators all over the country this week and are going viral on social media today.

Casting agent Chrissy Glickman of Matador Content sent the email out this week to various paranormal teams and ghost hunting enthusiasts. In the email, she says that she is looking for paranormal investigators that will take "paranormal investigating to the next level" and bare it all for the camera.

"For this paranormal investigating show, we are putting a different spin on paranormal investigating and we are looking for people and/or teams that would be interested in taking paranormal investigating to the next level by doing it in the nude. This is the REAL NAKED & AFRAID! We will have different teams going to different haunted locations around the country," Glickman said in the email.

The producers are using nudity for the concept of the show because they want to see if paranormal research teams get different readings and more evidence than when they are fully clothed. They believe that spirits will communicate with someone more vulnerable.

"This show is not about putting a bad light, causing drama or making fun of the paranormal. This idea was brought to our company after research on paranormal investigation teams in history doing it in the nude and we want to see if their reasoning for doing it in the nude really does get spirits to communicate easier," Glickman said.

Glickman assured applicants that all private parts will be blurred out when the show airs and investigators will be paid for their appearance. She asked that anyone interested contact her for more information and for an interview via Skype.

This email wasn't the first attempt by producers to cast for the series. Back in September the show was called "Naked In The Paranormal" and the idea didn't go over too well in the paranormal field.

After the Examiner article "Casting agent seeks naked ghost hunters for new paranormal series" went viral, Glickman started to receive negative feedback from paranormal investigators. She told a blogger at Skeptic's Boot that Examiner made up the story and the emails were never sent out. The casting agent claims that there was nothing in the emails that she sent out that stated investigators on the show would be nude.

"I did not do a blanket email to existing teams who do not operate in the nude. I put out a very basic casting flyer that stated that we are casting a new paranormal investigating show. Nothing stated it would be in the nude," Glickman said in an email response to Skeptic's Boot.

Glickman claims that she sent the email to only one person and that was John Albrecht of Examiner. She claims that he sent the email out to everyone. Glickman says that the show is going to be more of a "Myth Busters" type of series and insists there will be no nudity.

Former "Ghost Hunters" cast member Amy Bruni posted the email on her Facebook page yesterday asking if any of her fans had received it. Hundreds of paranormal enthusiasts said that they did in fact get the email about the naked paranormal show from Chrissy Glickman herself. Nearly everyone that received the email was appalled by the idea.
