UK labour councillor: 'My real mother is a green alien'

A LABOUR politician has stunned his town council colleagues by claiming his “real mother” is a 9ft green alien with eight fingers.

Councillor Simon Parkes, who was elected to represent Stakesby ward on Whitby Town Council last month, said although he has had hundreds of close encounters with extra-terrestrials, it will not interfere with his mission to help residents at the seaside resort.

Speaking on YouTube, Coun Parkes said he first saw an alien at the age of eight months, when “a traditional kite-shaped face”, with huge eyes, tiny nostrils and a thin mouth appeared over his cot.

He said: “Two green stick things came in. I was aware of some movement over my head. I thought, ‘they’re not mummy’s hands, mummy’s hands are pink’.”

He added: “I was looking straight into its face. It enters my mind through my eyes and it sends a message down my optic nerve into my brain.

“It says ‘I am your real mother, I am your more important mother’.”

Adele's Mansion Haunted: Asks Robbie Williams to Go Ghost Hunting

Adele has asked new BFF Robbie Williams to come and stay in her Sussex mansion so that they can go ghost hunting.

While the ‘Rolling In The Deep’ star is no fan of her ghoulish guests, the Take That star and wife Ayda are fascinated by the supernatural and have been offered a weekend of fun in the haunted house.

A friend told The Daily Star: “Adele’s often said she hates staying at home alone in the mansion because she’s sure it’s haunted and she gets spooked."

“She knows Robbie and Ayda are fascinated by the supernatural and has offered to have them to stay for a haunted weekend any time they like. Adele thinks they are both fantastic and would love to spend some time sharing ghost.”

Rob and the Grammy Award winner have been friends since meeting at the Brit Awards four years ago and the experience boybander offered her some advice on surviving the showbiz world.

It is not certain when the 38 year-old, who is known to be into the paranormal will be flying in from his Los Angeles home for a ghostly weekend, but we are sure it is going to be a rocking party!

Billions of Habitable Alien Planets Should Exist in Our Galaxy

There should be billions of habitable, rocky planets around the faint red stars of our Milky Way galaxy, a new study suggests.

Though these alien planets are difficult to detect, and only a few have been discovered so far, they should be ubiquitous, scientists say. And some of them could be good candidates to host extraterrestrial life.

The findings are based on a survey of 102 stars in a class called red dwarfs, which are fainter, cooler, less massive and longer-lived than the sun, and are thought to make up about 80 percent of the stars in our galaxy.

Finding super-Earths

Using the HARPS spectrograph on the 3.6-metre telescope at the European Southern Observatory's La Silla Observatory in Chile, astronomers found nine planets slightly larger than Earth over a six-year period. These planets, called super-Earths, weigh between one and 10 times the mass of our own world, and two of the nine were discovered in the habitable zone of their parent star, where temperatures are right for liquid water to exist.
