I, for one, welcome our new robotic cheetah overlords

Cheetah is a new robot being developed by Boston Dynamics with funding from DARPA's Maximum Mobility and Manipulation program. Last week Cheetah set a new land speed record for legged robots, galloping 18 mph on the treadmill. This version of the Cheetah is a lab prototype with offboard power and a boom that planarizes its motion. Testing on a free-running version of the Cheetah that will run 'unplugged' in the field starts later this year.


Listen, and understand. That terminator is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead. 

Urban Legends: Voodoo Village

Memphis TN- Its considered an urban legend. It is called “Voodoo Village.” It is located on this Mary Angela Road and this time of year it is very busy. Teens from across our area make the annual Halloween trip to South Memphis. They are looking for ghosts, goblins or any sign of unnatural life at “Voodoo Village.”

According to people who live on the street, the urban legend started because an "herb doctor" lived on the property. Adding to the mystery, if you drive by you will see lots of strange objects in the yard. There are crosses, symbols, things that look like coffins. People who live there say the property is an old Masonic Lodge.

Mike Einspanjer is a ghost hunter and works for Memphis Paranormal Investigations. Einspanjer says he went to the site and met with the property owner. The ghost hunter says Voodoo Village is not haunted. Einspanjer says “We took a team down there because I had heard the legends. There are no goblins, no ghosts, demons or monsters. There is nothing but a bunch of people who are economically challenged.” Einspanjer says “I promise people listening to this, I would be the first to tell you if there was something there. I would have it on my website and be so proud, but there is nothing down there.”

Einspanjer says he talked to one lady who said “can you imagine what it is like being filmed everyday of the year. There are Loads of kids coming by to shout at you.”

The property owner told Eyewitness News every year he has to call the police dozens of times because of teens coming to the home and starting trouble.
