Orang Pendek Update
The four-strong team and their Indonesian guide were tracking through dense jungle in Sumatra when two of them caught a glimpse of the famous Orang Pendek — or short man.
The group brought back a hair sample and a piece of chewed palm from the island's Kerinci National Park they hope will provide DNA evidence of the beast.
They also snapped a strange footprint thought to belong to the creature.
Sightings of the hairy human-like monster have been made in the area since colonial times — and it is alleged to be immensely powerful.
The Spell Is Cast: Indie Rock & Mysticism
Bohemian.com --Knights! Swords! Crystals! Goblets! With more indie-rock bands turning to fantasy imagery in their music videos lately, it can be a truly draining prospect to judge which ones are serious about their wizardly ways and which bands are just superficially glomming onto the trend. Who's got it right?
We turned for interpretation to Joe Yull, a 23-year-old fantasy and role-playing expert at Outer Planes Comics and Games in Santa Rosa. I knew Yull was the right man for the job after he displayed knowledge of both the classics (Hawkwind's collaboration with fantasy writer Michael Moorcock) and the trivial (Weezer's shout-out to 12-sided die). On a recent Sunday evening, Yull and I hung out in Outer Planes at one of their Magic: The Gathering gaming tables, sat in front of YouTube and tried to make sense of it all. With experience and skill, Yull deftly separated the dungeon masters from the dolts, and summarily rated each band's role-playing strength on a scale of one to 10.
Muse, 'Knights of Cydonia' A tough-looking character with a mustache practices kung fu moves like "Two-Headed Snake" and "Circle of Death" while receiving occasional blessings from a raven and shooting lasers from his revolver. "He's got kung fu, lasers and he's a cowboy," Yull notes approvingly. This looks good so far.

Ewan McGregor tells of being attacked by a ghost
WalesOnline.co.uk-- HE MAY be about to play a journalist investigating paranormal goings-on in the US military, but Ewan McGregor can lay claim to a spooky real-life experience of his own.
The Star Wars actor, whose upcoming army satire The Men Who Stare At Goats was adapted from a book by Welsh author and presenter Jon Ronson, has revealed he was the victim of ghostly happenings on his 20th birthday.
“I was wandering around in my dressing gown, running a bath when, suddenly, I felt this horrible pain in my back,” said the 38-year-old.

Haunted Leavenworth: Ghost Tours in Haunted Kansas
StJoeNews.net-- At the Santa Fe Depot Diner in Leavenworth, Kan., there have been numerous reports of “ghost” like activity, from doors opening by themselves to a full apparition of a woman in the kitchen. After Cathy Ramirez heard about that and other tales of the paranormal in the area, she knew she needed to add Leavenworth to the Ghost Tours of Kansas.
Ms. Ramirez and her sister, Beth Cooper, founded the tours five years ago as part of a building interest in haunted places. They now operate 11 tours in nine cities, including Atchison, Kansas City, Shawnee, Lawrence, Topeka, Holton and Manhattan.
Finding the haunted locations is as easy as going door to door, she says.

Japan's new First Lady Miyuki Hatoyama: 'I went to Venus in a UFO'
Times Online-- Japan’s new Prime Minister, Yukio Hatoyama, faces formidable foreign policy challenges in dealing with an expansionist China, a nuclear armed North Korea and a sinister Russia. But he need have no concerns about establishing friendly relations with the planet Venus — his own wife is a friend of the Venusians, having travelled there in a UFO in the 1970s.
The distinctions of Miyuki Hatoyama, 66, do not end there. As well as being a musical actress, cookery writer, clothes maker and television personality, she also says that she knew the actor Tom Cruise in a past life when he was incarnated as a Japanese.
To his credit, Mr Hatoyama, who will formally become Prime Minister in a fortnight after a landslide election victory last Sunday, does not appear in the least embarrassed by his wife’s eccentricities, and nor do his fellow citizens. She falls into the category of public figure known as “tarento”, or “talent” — televisual artists or entertainers who are expected and encouraged to be more flamboyant and unpredictable than the rest of us.

Coast to Coast AM: Paola Harris & Zecharia Sitchin
Investigative journalist Paola Harris talked about UFO and ET phenomena and shared information from top researchers and whistleblowers. She also discussed Exopolitics- the study of extraterrestrial presence on Earth and its social and political implications for mankind.
Here are some of her observations:
- UFO/ET visitations are a planetary phenomenon, seen in many other countries besides the United States.
- The late John Mack came to believe that later-stage abductees were being directly downloaded with data rather than being taken aboard craft.
- Mary Rodwell (Australia) and Yvonne Smith, author of the new book Chosen are two people currently working in ufology whose work she was impressed with.
- Revelations from the Vatican about ET contact, such as by Monsignor Balducci, suggest to her that key institutions are positioning themselves for disclosure.
- The late Col. Philip Corso wrote in his notes of an encounter with an alien that came out of a cave when he was working at Red Canyon (White Sands, NM missile range) in 1957. It telepathically asked him to turn off military radar so their craft could take off.
- There are many types of aliens visiting our planet, sources say as many as 57 different species. Some of these ETs don't have bodies but appear as intelligent balls of light.
'Most haunted' castle turns back on paranormal
S.TV-- Glamis Castle, believed to be the most haunted in Scotland, is to turn away ghost-hunters in a bid to rebuild its "image", it emerged on Monday.
Marketing chiefs at the castle, which is the ancestral home of the Earls of Strathmore and the Queen Mother's childhood home, intend to rebrand the building as a family-friendly visitor attraction and promote its royal credentials instead of emphasising its spookiness.
The castle, near Forfar, Angus, is widely regarded among paranormal investigators as one of Britain's most haunted buildings. Spectres are said to include the Grey Lady, who prowls the chapel, a tongueless female phantom, and the ghost of Earl Beardie, condemned to play cards with the Devil until Doomsday for breaking the sanctity of the Sabbath.

The People With Holes In Their Heads
Amanda Feilding lives in a charming flat looking over London's river with her companion, Joey Mellen, and their infant son, Rock. She is a successful painter, and she and Joey have an art gallery in a fashionable street of the King's Road. Another of her talents is for politics. At the last two General Elections she stood for Parliament in Chelsea, more than doubling her vote on the second occasion from 49 to 139. It does not sound much, but the cause for which she stands is unfamiliar and lacks obvious appeal. Feilding and her voters demand that trepanning operations be made freely available on the National Health. Trepanation means cutting a hole in your skull.Army Of Dead Has No Problem Meeting Recruitment Goal
Unique Paranormal Organization That Specializes In Hostile Hauntings
All hauntings have the potential to become dangerous. When this does happen, who do people call? Too bad there isn’t a specialized paranormal intercession group out there, right? Well, there is. The Omega Paranormal Eliminations Team’s (OPET) objective is to help those with problem hauntings to understand the nature of their haunting and offer solutions or recommendations on how to deal with or resolve it. The staff of OPET includes shamans that perform the traditional rite of spirit removals (exorcisms), house clearings, and spirit transitions (assisting spirits to move on). They use traditional methods to help people in problem hauntings at no cost.
A traditionally-apprenticed shaman spends years in his apprenticeship to learn about spirits and their ways. This knowledge is beneficial when it comes to interacting with those energies that we investigate. A shaman not only has the gift to see spirit, but is also trained in how to identify many different spiritual attributes, such as what causes a spirit’s energy to be held to a place (for example, the spirit may actually be connected to an object, not necessarily the building it is in). A shaman can interact with entities through the manipulation of spiritual energies.
Spiritual energy has a way of attracting other spiritual energies, malevolent as well as benign. Haunting activity does not always reveal the intentions of an entity. There are different influences involved with spirits. Some may be good-natured, some may be malevolent, and some may disguise themselves to look like something they’re not by manipulating their energy as if they were wearing a mask.
Dreams are important in these cases as well. Through a person’s dreams is often the easiest means for spirit to communicate to the living, and reviewing dreams is a part of our interview process. OPET staff includes a shaman who specializes in dreamwork. The dreams of all persons sleeping at the location during the course of an overnight investigation should be documented, and cooperation in this area of the investigation is appreciated.
OPET was created to assist victims of hostile hauntings by eliminating these dangerous entities from their homes. They also work alongside paranomal investigation groups whose clients request such services.
OPET can be contacted via their website at www.sasws.net/pages/opet/opet_home.html or at www.myspace.com/sasws

Farm animals mutilated and killed
WAVY.com (WAKEFIELD, Va.) -- Under baby blue skies and puffy white clouds, surrounded by tall emerald trees and lush green pastures... streaks of blood-red carnage.
The Murphy family awoke on their peaceful farm in Sussex County Friday morning to make a gruesome discovery. Eleven of their farm animals had been mutilated and killed in the middle of the night, and the Murphy's never heard a sound.
"It was devastating," said Edwin Murphy whose family established the farm on Rocky Hock Rd. in 1851. "This was gruesome, like a war zone."
Edwin was the first in the family to step out into the pasture and find that someone or something had torn all of their animals to shreds. Brutus the cow, two goats, three chickens and five ducks... all dead.
