UFODigest.com-- In the land near the Sea of Galilee, one of the oldest synagogues was found in the area called Migdal. It is believed to date back 2000 years from 50BCE to 100CE.
The time of Jesus and around Mary Magdalene's possible home. This would be the temple Jesus and Mary would have attended and it has been unearthed. Archeologists have discovered a large hand carved stone which has the seven candle menorah and two trees on both sides. The carving has hearts and two large vases which probably one contained the sacred olive oil used to light the sacred menorah. The other large amphora was used to anoint the King of Israel. The Vatican was building on the land a hotel called the Magdala Center which was being built to welcome tourists, pilgrims on pilgrimage, and Christians. It was on this land that the ancient synagogue was found. What a coincidence.

UFO mysteries: ‘Nazca Lines’ discovered in Kazakhstan
AllNewsWeb.com-- Media outlets as well as the official government website in Kazakhstan are reporting the surprise discovery of local geoglyphs or ‘Nazca Lines’. Geoglyphs are drawings created on the ground by arranging stones or removing the top layers of earth. These designs typically cover large areas. The most famous geoglyphs are those found in the Nazca desert in Peru. These show hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, fish, sharks, llamas, and lizards.
The Kazakhstan Geoglyphs (photo above, thanks to photojournalist N. Dorogov) appear to depict a humanoid figure wedged between two unusual structures. The drawings are located in the remote Karatau Mountains in South Kazakhstan.

Ghosts and legends in Ruthin, UK
BBC News-- Ruthin is not short of ghost stories. There's a different one on practically every corner of St Peter's Square at the top of town.
There's the sound of a ghostly wail which has been noted, apparently, by several different customers using the hole-in-the-wall cash machine at the Nat West Bank which was, long ago, Ruthin's old court house, with its gallows once erected on the site of what is now the cash machine.
Across the road on Castle Street there is the imposing arched entrance into medieval Ruthin Castle Hotel, itself the scene of numerous ghost stories, most notably Lady Grey, as well as the 'drowning pool' which needs little explanation except to say it was reputed to be in constant use around the time Owain Glyndwr laid siege to the town.

JK Rowling denied Presidential Medal of Freedom because writing “encouraged witchcraft”
ThinkProgress.org-- The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the nation’s highest civil award, and is given to individuals who have contributed to: 1) the security or national interests of the United States, 2) world peace, or 3) cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.
In his new book, Speechless: Tales of a White House Survivor, former Bush speechwriter Matt Latimer reveals how politicized the revered Presidential Medal of Freedom became during the Bush administration.
Latimer writes that administration officials objected to giving author J.K. Rowling the Presidential Medal of Freedom because her writing “encouraged witchcraft” (p. 201):

This was the same sort of narrow thinking that led people in the White House to actually object to giving the author J.K. Rowling a presidential medal because the Harry Potter books encouraged withcraft.
Physics Proves the Mall is the Best Zombie Hideout After All
LiveScience.com-- When Woody Harrelson escapes the living dead in "Zombieland", a new movie opening this Friday, should he head for the hills or the mall? A recently published research paper suggests that he's probably better off hiding in the mall to save his delicious brain.
The world is full of things that move in zombie-like fashion, such as particles flowing through a turbulent fluid or the unpredictable price changes of the stock market, so physicists seek insight into this behavior by creating so called "random walking" models.
Physicist Davide Cassi at the Università di Parma in Italy looked at how long an entity hiding in a complex structure could survive if being pursued by predatory random walkers. Cassi's paper, recently published in the journal Physical Review E, is the first to describe a general principle of a prey’s likelihood to survive over time while hiding in an irregular structure.

Tests on skull fragment cast doubt on Adolf Hitler suicide story
Guardian.co.uk-- In countless biographies of Adolf Hitler the story of his final hours is recounted in the traditional version: committing suicide with Eva Braun, he took a cyanide pill and then shot himself on 30 April 1945, as the Russians bombarded Berlin.
Some historians expressed doubt that the Führer had shot himself, speculating that accounts of Hitler's death had been embellished to present his suicide in a suitably heroic light. But a fragment of skull, complete with bullet hole, which was taken from the bunker by the Russians and displayed in Moscow in 2000, appeared to settle the argument.
Until now. In the wake of new revelations, the histories of Hitler's death may need to be rewritten – and left open-ended. American researchers claim to have demonstrated that the skull fragment, secretly preserved for decades by Soviet intelligence, belonged to a woman under 40, whose identity is unknown. DNA analyses performed on the bone, now held by the Russian State Archive in Moscow, have been processed at the genetics lab of the University of Connecticut. The results, broadcast in the US by a History Channel documentary, Hitler's Escape, astonished scientists.
