Welcome, all, to Steamcon, our inaugural steampunk symposium here in the lovely Pacific Northwest.

Activities and event planning are being schemed and plotted. If you have been sent here by one of our gracious collaborators, you may already have some vague inkling of the nature of the event that we are working to host. Guests, vendors and artisans are being consulted and coerced persuaded to aid in our humble endeavor.

Boy spirit' caught on tape by Jasper Haunts

The Jasper Haunts paranormal reseachers of Joplin, Missouri, captured what they say is the spirit of a boy, according to a recently release video.

The video upload at YouTube site Jupiter71 shows a closet door that was being filmed and you can see movement in the tape. In a second video, (below), a woman attempts to contact the spirit of the boy, and they captured an EVP where the spirit says "yeah."

Parapsychology Research Center to Open in Second Life

A new parapsychological research center is soon to open in a popular virtual arena called Second Life. The Alvarado Zingrone Institute for Research and Education (The AZIRE) was founded to provide resources for researchers, clinical psychologists and psychiatrists, therapists and counselors, and teachers and students interested in seemingly psychic phenomena. A project of Alvarado Consulting, The AZIRE is located in Charlottesville, Virginia and in the online virtual world, Second Life (http://www.secondlife.com).

Bizarre Gelatinous Fish Found in Brazil

National Geographic-- A bizarre fish recently caught off the coast of Brazil may not be a completely new kind of creature, as originally thought.

The six-foot-long (two-meter-long) gelatinous animal was found floating dead off the Bahia coast by researchers from Brazil's TAMAR Program, a sea turtle conservation group.



Initial accounts quoted the scientists calling the creature "completely new, scientifically speaking."

But fish experts looking at video footage of the bizarre fish have identified it as a member of Ateleopodidae, a little-understood group of deep-sea fish known to science since the 1840s.

UFO's lead UK paranormal sightings

Fox News-- UFO's are the leading paranormal occurrence that has been reported in the U.K. over the last 25 years, followed by general phantoms and werewolf sightings.

Other spooky sightings that have been reported to the police and leading paranormal organizations include crop circles, poltergeists and strange sounds.

Over 250 cases of spooky sightings and UFO occurrences have been reported, according to new study the U.K.'s Fringe Weird Report, which was specially commissioned to coincide with the release of Fringe Season 1 on DVD. The top ten sightings are as follows:

The UFO Phenomenon & The "M" Factor

American Chronicle-- The MSM, (mainstream media), i.e., "The ´M´ Factor," if nothing else—is certainly consistent and predictable in regards to its treatment of the UFO subject.

Most of our readers are undoubtedly aware of the segment done on the Today Show on Monday (Labor Day), entitled, Secrets of The Future Today: Watching The Skies for UFO as well as ABC´s PrimeTime - The Outsiders, concerning the abduction phenomenon with focus on Stan Romanek; the latter aired a few weeks back and was dreadful.

Today´s attention however, is on the "Secrets," segment (seen here); not surprising, and what has become status quo for the MSM is the associating of the noun believer, or the verb believe when discussing the subject matter, insinuating that the topic is "faith-based" or is of a cultus of some sort. This all to common "painting" of Ufology by innuendo has become the norm for the MSM.
