UFO Experts Investigate Mystery on Twin Cities Lake

UFO Experts Investigate Mystery on Twin Cities Lake

The mystery over what's sitting at the bottom of Sylvan Lake in Forest Lake has the attention of UFO investigators.

A Forest Lake woman claims she saw large waves rippling out in a swirling motion on the lake. She thought it seemed strange and called police. She told them she thought the churning water came from a helicopter.

"There was quite a stir for 5 to 7 minutes, with waves that went out 30 to 40 feet. Not up, but out," said the woman's neighbor Eugene Huerstel.

Since the woman's account was credible according to police, Forest Lake firefighters and the Washington County Dive Team went into the lake to look for the unusual and suspicious object.

They used a pontoon and an airboat to search to a depth of 26 feet. Washington County Sheriffs Deputies used a side scan sonar. Police said they did not find any debris on the water and no petroleum film from a boat or plane wreck, which they initally suspected. But what took everyone by surprise was the investigator who showed up Friday.

"We received several reports on our website about the incident," said Richard Lang from the Mutual UFO Network.

During a second water search, the Washington County Sheriff's Office found an object, about the size of a washer or dryer. They plan to pull it out in the coming weeks, though no one could say, what it might be.

However, a UFO does not seem likely.

"Based on our findings, we don't believe a UFO crashed into the lake," said Lang.

Ghost Hunting 101: what is a K-II meter and how do I use it?

K-II meters have become all the rage since the guys from “TAPS” started using them to supposedly communicate with entities. It’s basically an EMF (electromagnetic field) meter and, like all EMF meters, it has its own frequency range. The various sensitivities and differences between EMF meters highlight the importance of “characterizing” all paranormal investigation equipment that will be used. It’s essential to know the frequencies each device will measure, as well as its range. If you “characterize” your equipment - and the equipment of the entire team - prior to investigating, you’ll understand what constitutes a “normal” response and what may be an “anomalous” reading.

The K-II meter has several vulnerabilities:

Review of ABC's Outsiders

ABC-TV's UFO Recipe: The Same Crummy Formula Achieves the Same Crummy Result

"The Outsiders" episode dealing with UFOs on ABC-TV (August 18) was even worse than I expected, though the customary formula was implemented. Ya throws in a few fictional movies and TV shows containing flying saucers or absurd alien fantasies, followed by interviews with "experiencers" or witnesses whose backgrounds we know little about, and then you top off the whole exhibit of the purely sensational with debunkers disguised as skeptics. We also got to see a clip from the TV series, "V," which hasn't even aired yet (is that what this was really about, to showcase and encourage interest in upcoming TV shows which, based upon current TV offerings from all walks, may be doomed from the get-go?).

I used to respect ABC's UFO reporting, but that era was so long ago. I guess I wasn't surprised that this year's MUFON conference was portrayed minimally as little more than a circus atmosphere entity (and host Ju Ju Chang used the uncomplimentary term, "UFO enthusiasts" at least twice during the program), but taking an opportunity on more than one occasion -- in my opinion -- to make light of and display just a shade of ridicule and implied vilification toward respected veteran UFO researcher and psychologist Dr. R. Leo Sprinkle was unconscionable. His years of work with the organization APRO were long and informative, and how strange that the university he served for so many years suddenly had problems with his long-recognized UFO research.

Owl crop-circle appears in Wiltshire field

The 400ft pattern, the latest in a string of bird-themed designs seen this summer, appeared overnight in a field in Woodborough Hill.

But while crop circle specialists are searching for a meaning, and some are convinced it is a tribute to the teenage wizard.

Steve Killick, a Harry Potter fan, said: "It is very exciting to think that there are fans of Harry from other galaxies.

"Most of the world has fallen in love with Harry Potter so it makes sense that most of the universe will do eventually too."

JK Rowling's seven-book series on the adventures of wizard-in-training Harry have sold over 400 million copies since the first title was released in 1997.

Pattern expert Karen Alexander dismissed the claims.

She said: "The owl is an ancient symbol of wisdom, so perhaps it is a message to people that we should be thinking deeper about the world around us.

"This is obviously a time of some upheaval in the world so perhaps this is a sign that we should be looking backwards for some wisdom in how to deal with today's problems, rather than anything to do with Harry Potter."

Crop patterns have caused fresh controversy this summer, after a farmer in Wiltshire fired a shotgun over the heads of circle-spotters last month.

The Lake Erie 'Storm Hag', demonic siren of the Great Lakes

Since first explored in the 1600’s the Great Lakes have earned a reputation as being a treacherous and unforgiving waterway. Extremely violent storms seem to appear out of nowhere taking both vessel and crew to a watery grave.

In 1977 author Jay Gourley’s “The Great Lakes Triangle” proposed there were some sinister forces behind all of these mysterious disappearances. But many sailors on Lake Erie at least, have had a theory for centuries on the unexplainable storms and the shipwrecks that plague the fresh water lake.

The Storm Hag.

According to legend the Storm Hag lives at the bottom of the lake, close to Presque Isle Peninsula . She is a hideous she demon, her yellow eyes shine in the dark like those of a cat, her skin is a pale shade green. Her teeth are sharp and pointed as a shark, able to tear the skin off of her victims. They are also green, which gives her another less common name, Jenny Greenteeth. Her hands have long pointed nails like talons that have a poison with which she can paralyze a poor soul with just one small prick. Her arms are long and strong, and they wrap around her victims making it impossible for them to escape her flesh hungry attack.

Three give chase to triangle UFO over Crosby, Texas

Three witnesses traveling through Crosby, Texas, on August 19, encountered and followed a triangle-shaped UFO, according to witness testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

The group had just been discussing UFOs and how they had seen crafts in this area before, when they came up the object.

As they traveled down Highway 90, they "began to see a light."

"As it came into focus it became clear that it was a triangular craft with white lights on the bottom as well as smaller blinking blue, green, and red ones."

As they observed the object, it made "random changes in direction and have sudden bursts of speed." The group decided to follow it.

They followed the craft for about an hour, and at one point as they were stopped for a passing train, and the object flew directly over them. They lost the craft to the treeline and decided to head home, but back on the highway, they spotted the object again.

More on the Giza Pyramid Caves

UFO Contactee beats British explorer to Pyramid discovery by more than 50-years

British explorer Andrew Collins recently created ripples in the world of archeology when he announced that he had found a series of underground tunnels and caves beneath the Giza plateau in Egypt. And while Mr. Collins was able to only proceed a relatively short distance, due to bats, spiders and various hostile conditions, Billy Meier recounted his experiences, in 1953, of going underneath the Great pyramid, far below the surface, and into a city-like compound that had been utilized, for thousands of years, by a renegade extraterrestrial group.

It was this group, the Bafath, that was largely responsible for the existence and perpetuation of the various religions and cults, many of which exit to this day though the Bafath were removed from the earth about 30 years ago. They were also a force behind Hitler, operating through the Thule society, strongly influencing him to become the exceedingly evil, negative leader that he tuned into. It was also said that this group was planning a false “Second Coming” so as to effectively gain worldwide control over all of humanity, long conditioned for enslavement by the religions.

Spanish cops smash 'voodoo' gang

Madrid - Spanish police have smashed a gang that used the threat of voodoo curses to force Nigerian women to work as prostitutes in Germany, arresting more than 50 people, the interior ministry said on Wednesday.

It said the gang forged identity documents and work certificates "on a large scale" to facilitate illegal immigration.

"Many of these forgeries were intended for the introduction of Nigerians in Germany for sexual exploitation under the threat of voodoo," the ministry said in a statement.

It said 53 people were arrested in Spain, mostly in Madrid, and one in Germany in the operation, carried out in collaboration with German police.

Police searched 20 premises in various Spanish provinces and five German towns.

The gang also arranged fake marriages in Spain for Nigerians to obtain residency permits, the ministry said. - Sapa-AFP
